With an influx of customer interest and industry attention, Peregrine Space has positioned itself as the organization meeting requirements that no other company seems to be meeting. But that's not just what we think. Again this month, we heard from an organization (who is now a customer) that they want to work with us because our systems fill a gap in the market they need filled.
Perhaps April's headline should be that Peregrine Space is supporting multiple large government acquisitions from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to Geostationary Orbit (GEO). Perhaps instead, the headline should be that Peregrine Space continued to grow, making inroads with other small businesses and large companies, alike, for collaboration and joint work. Or perhaps the headline should be that over the past month, Peregrine Space has spent its time signing contracts and building novel optical hardware. Although, that last one has described every month lately.
Instead of a single headline, here is a collection of what the Peregrine Space team was up to in April. Spoiler: it included some very cool events, some hot-off-the-press contracts, some connections with local companies, and more progress in our fundraise.
April saw several new opportunities and contracts for Peregrine Space. First was the release of the licensable TALON software suite, spurred by customer request (read on for details). Then, Peregrine Space picked up requests from two private entities to buy and fly hardware on-orbit on accelerated timelines, and interest from a partner company for Peregrine Space to support a terrestrial effort.
At the end of April, Peregrine Space Corp had its first birthday. The team took a moment to look back at all that we accomplished in this first year, the skills we’ve honed, and the work that is yet to come. We’ve turned ideas into products and products into contracts, all with an agile team of great people! We appreciate everyone following along with our journey and especially our customers, who recognize that we can soar to new heights together.
On a previous submission to a customer, we included charts and analysis that we generated with our in-house software tools. The customer organization came back with a request for our hardware product, but also for the ability to use the same tools we used, since they liked the outputs and interface so much. Hence, a licensable, fully validated, CUDA-enhanced raytracing, multi-use optical suite was born: Peregrine Space's TALON. Whether it’s Laser Communication, LiDAR/Ranging, Network Planning, EDFA Design, Orbit Planning, or 2D Plot Generation you’re after, TALON has you covered!
This past week, we attended the North American Lithuanian Defense & Space Forum, held at The Br-dge. The panels of Lithuanian diplomats and heads of US entities were filled with insight. Discussion topics covered the SpaceWERX landscape, transatlantic cooperation for defense and tech, using and building space as infrastructure, and autonomous drone systems. Peregrine Space happily sits at the intersection of these topics with our dual-use hardware for diverse regimes, so we were thrilled to hear the varied perspectives. Thanks to the entire Lithuanian Delegation for coming to El Segundo!
"April began with demand for our optical simulation software and ended with a new mission partner. These new partnerships drove us to compile our full suite of algorithms into the all new Toolbox for Advanced Laser Operations and Networking (TALON), and I believe it will change the way our industry simulates and designs novel optical hardware for real applications. With every new advancement in our offerings, Peregrine Space Corp becomes an even more well-rounded product and service provider in an evolving world."
